From Pain to Promise

Planting one little seed.
That’s all it took to transform a life from pain to promise.

His name is Patrick. He went to college on a full ride scholarship and seemed to have everything going for him, yet his life quickly spiraled out of control.

“My whole desire was to be the guy that everyone wanted to be like and every girl wanted to be with. I left my old life of being straight edge and went heavily into the party scene, hooking up with girls and getting drunk multiple times a week.”

But this only led to overwhelming despair and depression.

Then one day, Patrick came to an event where I was speaking in Southern California. Before I went on stage that night, I felt an overwhelming burden from the Holy Spirit guiding me to POINT OUT a few things that were… well… kind of shocking.

I knew there were rival gang members in the audience. God told me to ask them to come forward and lay down their knives. It was astonishing to watch these guys walk up — many with tears in their eyes — drop their switchblades in a bucket, embrace each other, and give up that life of violence.

But God wanted to do even more. I felt compelled to ask those who were struggling with sexual sin to receive the freedom that only comes through Christ.

These words — “Jesus can set you free from sexual promiscuity” — touched Patrick’s hurting heart. He wrote, “I had so much shame not realizing the healing power of Christ.” Patrick could actually, tangibly feel the Holy Spirit moving throughout the entire auditorium.

After that night, his condemnation was replaced with a new conviction. Patrick started an accountability group along with three other guys and they began, as he says, “intimately” focusing on his relationship with the Lord.

One simple seed led to a new, vibrant life overflowing with an abundant harvest of the fruit of the spirit. Praise God! Since then Patrick has gone into full time ministry. He’s travelled overseas and served children in the slums of the Philippines.

At Life Without Limbs we want to plant more seeds. The opportunities to touch hearts and transform lives for the Lord are endless.

In 2012, with the help of the Lord I’m going to be speaking at numerous venues all over the United States. We also will be reaching even more people by broadcasting the message of hope on the radio that will go out not only in the U.S. but internationally as well.

More seeds planted means more lives changed. It’s a simple equation. And it can happen with your gracious help.

The Bible says in Matthew 13:8-9 “… seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.” I’m humbly asking you to help us sow these seeds for the Lord. You’ll be reaching out to people who are prisoners to their own sin and shame. People just like Patrick who are utterly lost and searching for answers. We have the answer… we can introduce them to the One who can set them free!

Please consider becoming a monthly donor with automatic giving through Life Without Limbs. You might think your gift every month won’t make a difference. That’s simply not true. With each gift you give you’ll be planting seeds that will reap an abundant harvest in someone’s life. It only took one little seed to help transform Patrick’s life. That’s the great harvest that your gift will bring every month.
When you commit to support Life Without Limbs with automatic giving of only $20 or more each month, I’ll send you our new DVD The Valley featuring our visit to the Centinela State Prison during our Imperial Valley outreach. Also included as a bonus feature is The Lost Sheep mini teaching video – a powerful drama for the soul that shares the Good News is a bold new way. The documentary The Valley demonstrates how just a few faith warriors can make an enormous difference in an entire community and organize the biggest evangelical event that county had ever seen!

If you can’t make a monthly pledge, then please give a one-time gift. For your one-time gift of $15 or more, I’ll send you the 2012 Transforming Lives for the Lord Calendar. Each month’s photo is a testament to how God is moving through this ministry around the world.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. I know the Lord sees your humble heart and I pray that He will bless you and your family.

In Him, Through Him, For Him,
