I recently bought a plant for my living room. I knew it was real, but some of my friends thought it was fake. We forgot to water it for a month and it was still green. One friend said, “See...it is fake.” They actually thought it was funny that I believed it was real. I began to doubt what I knew was true.

While ministering this past weekend in Anaheim, a 30-year-old man approached Nick to share his remarkable personal story of perseverance through great difficulty. This young man, who was born with a disability in which he has two bladders and one kidney, always had a dream of attending Harvard Law School.

It doesn't make sense for a man to be born without limbs, does it? Wouldn't you be confused to see a tree without leaves yet with fruit on the branches? Yet did you know that fruit can come from a leafless tree, but not from a lifeless tree? I've seen it! Do you know that Jesus Christ is the source of love, light, and life?

It greatly encouraged me to know that over 60 evangelical churches have united together for a single cause - reaching Salt Lake City for Christ! It is rare for churches from one city to unite for any reason at all. How glorious to see God's people set aside their earthly differences in order to build up another city - the one in Heaven. To
