Hi my name is Andrea Horner I was blessed to hear Nick speak a couple of years ago over a mothers day weekend in Lincoln NE. I am a Kansas girl and can I just say it would be great to have Nick come to Kansas City and speak! I first heard Nicks story one morning when I was watching Life Today with James and Betty Robinson. I was in the process of writing my book and praying about starting my own ministry. Nick inspired me and I get excited to see how God is using him. I can’t think of many excuses when I see Nick. I don’t have the same physical challenges, but I have some challenges due to my height. I was born with a growth disorder that has a 2% survival rate before birth. So I see how in Christ all things are possible and we are more than conquers in Christ. I see how He has overcome his challenges and it encourages me along my own Journey. I want to say Thank you to Nick and the ministry of Life Without Limbs and keep doing what you are doing!
I was born doing things differently from the start. I was born breached via a c section however by appearances I looked like a normal healthy baby. I was tall for a baby when I was born however when I was a year old that is when my parents started to see I was not growing like I should. So after testing and a move to Houston TX at four years old I was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome. A chromosomal growth disorder. This is only developed in females by a missing x chromosome. It primarily causes short stature but can create other health complications depending on the severity. I praise God don’t have a severe form of TS so I don’t have many of the health complications or the characteristics of this condition. Turner Syndrome has been found to be responsible for about 10% of all miscarriages and has a survival rate of around 2% before birth. So I do believe I am a Miracle and by the grace of God been able to overcome many of the obstacles. My parents were told that I would not be able to drive, ride a bike, finish high school. Doctors are advocating abortion of these baby because of the low survival. I have felt a calling from God to spread awareness. So I have written a book about my story called Beauty for Ashes and started my own ministry based on the same name. I get it from Isaiah 61:3 that says how God gives us beauty for our ashes and I believe that has been true of my life and has become my life verse. God healed my brokenness and has made something beautiful of my life. I became a Christian my JR year of high school. I became a Christian on a missions trip in Mexico, for me it helped me to be taken out of my world and to see another, it give me a different perspective of my situation. So now I feel a responsibility to share my story how I can. I thank you for letting me share my story and praying for all God is doing through the work of your ministry.
God Bless,
Andrea Horner
