I had been in the mission field for 30 years (Africa, Mideast, India area, S. America, and Europe), but in 2007 took a long needed sabbatical and spent that year volunteering with a charitable foundation located in San Diego. I had heard about Nick in 2006 and loved his original video clip, passing it on to many others. During the summer of ’07 I got an e-mail from my wife who was taking care of our field work saying that Nick was going to be speaking not far from where I was. I looked into it and found where his speaking engagement was going to be, found a friend to go with me, got there early, & took front row seats.

Needless to say I was totally moved by Nick’s message, and was very impressed by his cheerfulness and ability to make jokes, even about his own disability. I had taken that year away from the mission field in order to recover from burn-out, but was re-enjuvenated by Nick’s dedication and VERVE! I got one of those 350,000 hugs  and asked Nick if he would ever be coming to Serbia where we have our ministry. Now he’s coming in 3 weeks time (Sept 22-23)! PTL! I have been praying for Nick and his ministry regularly, receive his newsletter, and use many of his video clips in our own ministry.
