God and My Testimony
I'm a 25-year-old female born without arms and legs, only hands and feet. I have 4-Limb Phocomelia, which means loss of limbs; it is not very common. God has shown me how to thrive, and to know that I'm as equal despite how severe my limitations. Like Nick, I struggle everyday with daily tasks, but with strength I look on the bright side of life. Nick is encouraging me to be myself and thrive. I hope to meet him someday where I live.
What is God? Is God a being or our imagination? God is an unseen being, our Savior in heaven, who saved us from sin and evil and gave the Virgin Mary a Son to name, Jesus, as HIS child and servant. Through Jesus, God gave millions of miracles and healings to the world. God is real, and as an example of HIM I’m one of HIS children. At birth, I wasn’t normal color due to lack of oxygen, and due to that I had a Tracheotomy for 3 years as my life support; and I have an indent that’s sensitive to being touched. Within my first 3 years I’ve had several surgeries to save my life, along with being brought back to life a few times. When I was 3, I was breathing on my own with no oxygen given; the breathing tube was completely plugged, so Mom wanted to see if I’d pass the breathing test and I did for a month; from then on I had my Tracheotomy taken out. In that same year, I got my colostomy, which helps my body system function normal; I still have it and plan on keeping it forever. Through school, I was challenged in many ways, with schoolwork, speech, making friends, being in Special Education/normal classes, and growing up to be welcome and accepted. I may still have a few weaknesses at 25-years-old, but I have come a long way compared to what my doctor’s predicted/said. I also had 2 spine surgeries, one was in 7th grade on may 4th 1996 and one was on January 16th 2003 my Senior year in high school, for Scoliosis for both years were to straighten the curves on my spine due to pressure from my body weight/pain every time I sat up; I have 2 sets of rods on the sides of my spine fused to it for support/correction of the curves-without surgery one I have no idea where my life would’ve been due to my spine being curved like a “c.” Despite all my surgeries and physical challenges/disability, I have 4-Limb Phocomelia. This means loss of limbs=4 limbs for me; I only have hands/feet, but I’m smart and have many good/great friends/family in my life. I also go to College to major in being a counselor.
God does miraculous things in life, and as I am one of the miracles. Life can be good if we choose it to be good. God wants us to be happy and enjoy life, and whatever we go through daily, we will rejoice in Him greatly and for eternity. Everybody’s different in his or her own way, but our FATHER sees us as equal and unique as separate individuals/beings, that includes all HIS creations/Earth. Despite our differences and disabilities and so much more in life, including things we go through as a follower/believer in HIM, we are HIS special children/creations made in HIS image. As we follow HIM, we are doing great deeds to serve HIM/our community to all individuals/creations, and spreading the great gospel/word of our LORD God/HIS son Jesus Christ.
So, is God real? Yes, HE is real. HE may not be seen in person, but HE’s seen in Spirit.
