Swimming With Champions
Yesterday, Nick had a bit of fun swimming with the USA Men's Senior National Team for Team USA Water Polo at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake, California. Addressing the Team last Friday, Nick had the great joy of bringing a highly motivational message to spur them on in their rigorous efforts! The Head Coach for the team, Dr. Terry Schroeder, told Nick he was very touched, as were the team members. It helped them, Schroeder said, to have faith and maintain a good perspective. Afterwards, Nick was awarded an official Team USA Water Polo swim cap!

Beauty Instead of Ashes
A mother and her young daughter attended one of Nick's recent meetings in Ventura at Bible Fellowship Church. Only six weeks prior, her 3-year-old son had choked to death. Still living in a fog of grief, she attended the meeting at her daughter's urging. After hearing Nick share from his heart about how he prayed for a miracle for himself, but came to realize God was making him into a miracle for others, she was deeply moved. She told Nick that she could hang on to that hope. Also, while attending the meeting, her young daughter, asked Jesus in to her heart.

God Has Given Me Wings To Fly
Honoring the National Day of Prayer, some 500 professionals, civic and spiritual leaders gathered at the Westlake Village Hyatt. The Ventura County Star, a local newspaper, quoted Nick as saying, "I'm so thankful I was born without arms or legs. I may not have feet to dance, but God has given me wings to fly." Sharing some of his personal story filled with the struggle of growing up without arms or legs and the bullying he encountered during his school years, he said, "I had a choice to be angry with God or be thankful for what he's given me."
