Visiting so many countries in such a brief period means that we often don’t get to spend as much time in some countries as we would like to. This was the case with our time in Brazil.
With a red eye flight in, and a red eye flight out, we ended up spending less than 20 hours in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. But what a 20 hours it was!
Our first stop was Igreja Batista Lagoinha, a church in Belo Horizonte that organized a press conference for me to speak at before the main event.
After the press conference, I spoke to a crowd of nearly 10,000 who packed every available inch of space in and around the church. The message was broadcast live to an audience of over a million.
One of the few benefits of such a short stay in one place is that it forces you to really focus on what’s important: The people.
The people who came were so passionate, so available to the Holy Spirit that I could hardly believe how strong the presence of God felt.
From Igreja Batista Lagoinha it was straight to Igreja Batista Central de Belo Horizonte, another influential church in the middle of Belo Horizonte.
The people here yet again were incredible; so willing to listen and receive the message of hope in Christ.
The people of Brazil have left their mark on me, and Christ has left His mark on them. Rest assured, when I return to this beautiful country, it will be for longer than a day.
