It seems that everywhere we look, there are signs of harvest. Crisp apples, fresh baked pumpkin pies, vines full of tomatoes, and so much more… The cooler temperatures and changing seasons reward us with an abundance of fresh food from farms and gardens.
But at harvesttime, I also think about Jesus’ words in Matthew 9:37 – “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” Can you imagine the depth of sadness that Jesus must have felt as He said those words? Everywhere he looked, He saw people desperately looking for meaning to life, but there weren’t enough committed followers to tell them the Good News.
But Jesus didn’t stop with those words. Instead, He showed us that there is hope for reaching the lost when he continued by saying, “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field” (verse 38). He called you and me!
As a giving partner with Life Without Limbs, you are answering Jesus’ call by sending out workers to the harvest field. On your behalf, I spoke to 60,000 people (both in person or via live stream) at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, in late August. Praise God for a harvest of more than 600 men, women and youth who decided to follow Jesus that weekend.
Your generous support is what sent me out to that field to harvest for our Savior. And your gift today of $40, $60, $100, or whatever God leads you to give, will send me back out – again and again – to tell lost people about our Savior’s amazing gift.
The Apostle Paul, one of the great “harvesters” during the decades that followed Jesus’ time on earth, understood the difficulties people can face when they are totally sold out for Jesus. He challenged us in 1 Corinthians 1:10,
I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.
To achieve a full harvest, we must be unified, working together to maximize our efforts for Him. Paul challenged us to be like Christ, “having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind” (Philippians 2:2). Satan uses disunity to slow down the spread of the Gospel. After all, we can’t focus on our work as harvesters for Christ when we are divided as followers of Him.
When we stand together, united under the passion for reaching others for Christ, we are powerful! Paul reminds us that “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Please join me this month in standing united for Christ, not wavering, not being only somewhat committed. Instead, let’s go all in as harvesters for Him! Let’s astound a world that is seeking purpose and passion with the awesome love that Christ has given us for Him and for one another – so much so that it spills over to pull others into the Family of God with us.
This month, we launch the Life Without Limbs tent with a two-week Unstoppable Faith event in Newbury Park. I will be preaching an evangelistic message for 14 evenings in a row. Volunteers from our 11 partnering churches and two partnering organizations are united with us in the passion of reaching people for Christ, so they will remain at the tent to provide discipleship classes on four nights for two weeks. These classes are open to anyone who came to know Jesus during the event and wants to grow, and to others who are still seeking our Savior.
The harvest is great. You are one of the workers God has called “into His harvest fields,” and as we are united in this great calling, we are unstoppable! Please prayerfully ask God what He wants you to give today – whether it is $40, $60, $100 or another amount God directs you to send – and join me in unity as together we increase the harvest for our Lord and Savior.
Thank you in advance for being a ministry partner with me as together we stand with God beside us and boldly invite others to accept His amazing gift of grace.
In Him, Through Him, For Him,
