Do you remember when Jesus called you? I was fifteen years old when I knew that God had a purpose for my life. You may not remember the specifics of God’s call to you, but as brothers and sisters in Christ, we share in Jesus’ call to Peter and Andrew: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19).
Sometime later, Peter and some of the other disciples were fishing but had caught nothing. Then Jesus told them to cast their nets once again into the sea. The Bible tells us, “When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink” (Luke 5:6-7).
As I look ahead in the new year, I see many opportunities God is giving us to be fishers of men through our Unstoppable Faith events. In fact, our recent event in Camarillo was attended by 2767 people — 306 of whom are now new believers! The Santa Barbara event resulted in 370 of the 3100 people attending opening their hearts to God. Praise God!! Please pray for the upcoming events this month in Irvine, CA and Frisco, TX.
The nets are full, but they are too heavy – I can’t do this alone.
Will you respond to God’s call and help out with the heavy lifting through your prayers and generous support?
Last month, I received this prayer request from a woman in India:
“I only feel complete in Jesus, who was always my redeemer, my strength and hope… But … I have limitations and restrictions… Pray for me so that nothing can stop me from being part of the Christian missionary field.”
What holds you back from responding to God’s call to be fishers of men? How are you letting God use you?
Your donation today to Life Without Limbs is one way to be a heavy lifter in response to that call. Whatever you can give — $40, $60, $100 or any amount God leads you to provide – helps make our Unstoppable Faith events possible. But it’s more than an event – it’s a bold proclamation of Jesus and His love and free gift of salvation and eternal life.
Thousands of people are reaching out, struggling to find purpose and hope in our world that seems constantly to be walking further from God. There are days when I wonder if I can do what God is calling us to do. But then I remember Peter – a humble fisherman called by Jesus to reach others for Him. Peter could walk on water as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus. So how much more will you and I do when we focus on Him?
I ask you to join me by committing that in 2017, you will not run away from any challenge God gives you – including His challenge to be a fisher of men. Will you join with me and help lift the nets that are full of people who are desperately reaching out for hope?
Your financial support and prayers combine with God’s power and strength to form an unbreakable combination! With God’s help, and your partnership, I know the ministry of Life Without Limbs will break through barriers and push past any limitations.
And the result will be more men, women and youth confident that they are loved by God and that they have a purpose in Him and strength through Him. Join us as a fisher of men by sending your gift, and together we will bring our desperately hurting world to our Savior.
In Him, Through Him, For Him,
P.S. Please be a heavy lifter for Christ. Your partnership today through your donation and your prayers is so needed as we share the message of salvation to our world. Thank you in advance for your gift – and for your support. Your generosity never ceases to encourage me.
