“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Wow, do I love my kids! My wife, Kanae, and I are truly cherishing every God-given moment in these earliest years of Kiyoshi and Dejan’s lives. Maybe you’ve raised a child, or two, and know how crucial these years can be for training them up to be Godly young men and women. Praise God for your faithful parenthood! For those of you who are maybe in the midst of the challenging privilege of child rearing there’s no doubt you’re finding it difficult to avoid the annual “Back to School” activity everywhere: sales on school supplies, specials on kids’ clothing, parents looking to the Fall schedule to bring more predictability to life, students excited about hanging with friends. Homework, not so much
Besides the coming school year, Fall also brings changes in nature, including trees losing their leaves, brisk days and cold nights. But we also look forward to football games, donuts and apple cider, and of course holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner.
Life Without Limbs is gearing up for the Fall, too: reviewing ministry plans, setting event schedules and prayerfully seeking the Lord as to how we should steer the ministry. After all, it’s His work, and we’re just thankful to be a part of it.
We’re especially thankful for your partnership with us in prayer and in financial support. Without you, our ministry to this fallen world would not be possible. We are glad to recognize your part in our mission, and are unafraid to ask for your continued prayer as many of those in your life, and ours, start another school year. Here’s what we’d like you to specifically pray for:
Children. “Back to school” brings excitement for many children but can also be a scary time. Pray that children everywhere would strive for kindness in their relationships and to be able to maintain their academic focus!
Parents. As the prospect of more structured days looms ahead, pray for parents to be intentional in training up their children “in the way they should go.” Intentionality might mean scheduling in conversation time with their children or praying specifically for Gospel success in their lives.
Teachers. It’s not easy being a teacher these days. Usually a teacher also plays the role of nurse, counselor, janitor, and more. So pray for teachers to uphold the honor and privilege of teaching and to do so with an eye toward creating the best atmosphere possible for children to learn and grow.
Pastors and church leaders. Parents and teachers are not alone in their quest to raise God-honoring children. So remember to pray for those pastors and leaders who teach and set a Godly example for our youth in church.
Even if you don’t have children of your own, you may have nieces and nephews, or neighbors with children that could benefit from your prayer support. What a gift to be able to uphold the children around you in prayer!
Besides the important support of prayer, we also want to ask you to consider a financial gift. Remember, when you donate to LWL, you enable our Gospel ministry to continue around the nation and the world. At this time of year, your gifts will go toward our efforts to minister to believers and unbelievers alike through our Unstoppable Faith outreaches. From September to November, we are scheduled to be in California, Texas and several countries in Eastern Europe with these outreaches. In addition, we have special youth nights scheduled. I can’t wait to preach the Gospel at each one!
One fact about Unstoppable Faith: so far this year, over 150,000 have heard the Gospel through these events, with thousands coming to faith in Christ! Your support in prayer, along with your financial giving, will enable us to keep on holding these events, to keep on preaching, to keep on seeing souls impacted for Jesus Christ! Will you join us by continuing to support this ministry?
Thank you for your interest in Life Without Limbs and for your support of our Gospel efforts around the world. Your prayers and giving affects lives: ours, as we gratefully serve, and those of the lost and hopeless who we have the privilege of ministering to with the Gospel. Children are given hope, parents are given encouragement, and God’s kingdom advances. We trust you too are encouraged and joyful as you give.
Please prayerfully consider how you might support Life Without Limbs and its goal of reaching the hurting and hopeless with the Gospel. Your generous gift of $25, $50, $100, or more this month will go a long way toward making this “back to school” season, the first time many will hear of Christ through our ministry. We are so grateful for your financial support, but also of your prayer and encouragement. So please remember to lift up this ministry to the Lord, that we might serve and preach gladly as we encourage people everywhere.
Grateful for you.
In Him, Through Him, For Him,
